Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is a Vehicle Service Contract / Extended Warranty?

Most new vehicles come with a 3 year /36,000 mile bumper-to-bumper (comprehensive) manufacturer’s warranty. Once the manufacturer’s warranty expires, extended warranties take over – if you have one. A extended warranty provides for repairs of covered components during a specific period of time or a certain number of miles driven.

2. What is the "Original Manufacturer's Warranty"?

The 'Original Manufacturer's Warranty' is the initial warranty period provided by the vehicle manufacturer. This is usually a three year/36,000 mile bumper-to-bumper warranty, though some manufacturers have longer periods and/or mileage limits. In addition, some components of the vehicle might have longer warranty periods.

3. Is an extended warranty an insurance policy?

No. (*in most states) An extended warranty is a contract that provides payment for repair and/or replacement of covered parts, including labor.

4. Why should I choose ACC Warranty over the others?

ACC Warranty works hard to match you to your exact extended warranty needs and then offer the best customer service and 24/7 support in the industry. We are also RV and Prevost Experts!

5. Do you cover damage due to overheating?

Overheating damage is covered if the overheating was not the result of improper use and a lack of maintenance.

6. What is In-Service date?

The In-Service date is the date when you take possession of your car from a dealer. This starts the clock ticking on your manufacturer’s warranty period.

7. What Benefits do you offer?

24/7 Customer Technical Assistance and Support.

Rental Car Benefits

Should your car need to stay at a repair facility, you can be reimbursed for car rental up to $50 per day.(*some states do not allow this)

Hotel and Lodging Benefits

If you can not stay in your RV we will make the reservations for you and take care of the lodging bill.(*some states do not allow this)

Unlimited Towing and Unlimited Roadservice

Mobile Claims Service

Overnight Parts Delivery and many more!

8. Where can I take my vehicle for repairs?

Any licensed repair facility in the US, Canada, or Mexico. The repair facility merely contacts the claims administrator to arrange for payment.

9. What is the procedure if I have a claim on my vehicle?

The process is simple. Take your vehicle into any licensed facility. Ask the repair facility to contact the contract administrator. We will pay for covered repairs directly.

10.What about authorizations for repairs?

We answer the phones 7 Days per Week. So, getting the repair authorized is never an issue with us. Most other companies only take calls from 9-5, M-F, Eastern Time.

11. How does the deductible work?

A deductible is the amount you pay for any covered repair. For instance, if your deductible is $100, and a repair is $500, then you would pay the first $100 and your extended warranty would cover the remaining $400.

12. Does ACC cover parts and labor?

Yes – for all covered items PLUS Taxes, Shop Supplies, Fees.

13. How do I enroll my vehicle in the ACC Warranty warranty plan?

Simply get a quote from us and select the plan that is right for you.

14. I want to enroll my vehicle online. How can I be assured that it is completely safe to use my credit card?

The shopping cart and quote form are secured pages. You can also call us 7 Days per week.

15. I have not had any problems with my vehicle so far. Do I really need an Extended Warranty?

This is like saying “I never get sick, do I need health insurance?” Just as the cost of health care is always rising, so is the cost of repairing a vehicle. You don’t want a surprise medical bill in the thousands, and you certainly don’t want a surprise repair bill in the thousands.

16. Why buy it now? I'm still covered by the manufacturer?

First, let’s be sure you are talking about the “bumper-to-bumper” manufacturer’s warranty. If not, then you are likely only covered for small portions of the RV or car such as the power train. In this case, an extended warranty will provide you with far more coverage and far more protection from unexpected repair bills.

17. If my vehicle is out of the manufacturer's warranty, can I still get coverage?

Yes.

18. Can I buy this same type of coverage through my dealer?

Yes, but be prepared to pay more for the same thing in some cases.

19. Do I have to go back to my original dealer for repairs?

No. You can go to any licensed repair facility. The repair facility merely contacts the claims administrator to arrange for payment.

20. What happens if my dealer does not want to accept the warranty plan?

That doesn't happen with us! We pay the posted shop labor rates, retail on parts and Taxes. That way you get the same quality of service as if you were paying with your credit card instead of ours!

21. I've seen lower prices on the Internet. Why should I buy from ACC Warranty?

Of course you have! We offer a Premium level of service, customer support and 24/7 service that costs a little more to produce. Along with protecting our service agreements with actual A Rated front-line insurance, not bonds, not an R.R.G., not a stop loss, our customers are sure to be protected today and in the future.

Price is always a consideration but some things should always be purchased from a quality standpoint - Like your warranty. When you are out of town and broke down on the side of the road you are going to be VERY glad you can call and get a live person to help you out. We can locate a repair shop for you, make your service appointment or dispatch a mobile service truck, order the parts, make a hotel and rental car reservation and pay for it. All of this while the other warranty companies are closed.

Most companies are open from 9-5, M-F, Eastern Time and we all know that is not when you are going to have a breakdown. Right?

We pay for Mobile Service and Repair Providers to come to you 7 Days per Week, when needed. This is especially important if you attend RV Rallies and RV Club Events.

22. What if my vehicle breaks down and I am not near my home?

You can go to any licensed repair facility. You do not have to go to a facility near your home. The repair facility merely contacts the claims administrator to arrange for payment.

23. Where is my Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)?

The VIN is visible in several places on your car. The most common and easily accessible are on the dashboard on the driver’s side of the vehicle. You can see the VIN through the bottom of the windshield from the outside of the vehicle.

You can also find the VIN inside the driver’s door frame on most vehicles.

24. What if I want to cancel my warranty?

You can. If you paid the full premium, you will get a pro-rated refund. If you are paying over time, then you will simply stop making payments. There is also a $50 cancelation fee for processing work that needs to be done.

25. What if I trade my vehicle?

Cancel your warranty and get your pro-rated refund. There is no need for it to continue.

26. What if I sell my car? Is my warranty Transferable?

Yes. A warranty is transferable except for some commercial vehicles.

27. Is my warranty Renewable?

Yes. Be sure to contact us before your current plan expires so we can assure you of uninterrupted coverage.

28. Do you have a payment plan?

Call us for details.

29. Do you offer coverage on Salvage or junk titles, rebuilt vehicles or vehicles damaged by a flood?

Our program is available on SOME vehicles with a brand title. CALL FIRST TO FIND OUT.

* This is an overview of coverage only - not an actual vsc, warranty or service plan.

** You must refer to the actual vehicle service contract to obtain specific information about definitions; terms and conditions; coverages; benefits; claim instructions; exclusions; and special state requirements.

We use the term "extended warranty" and "warranty"interchangeably with the term "service plan - extended service plan - vehicle service contract - service contract," variations thereof, or "VSC," throughout the web site.

A vehicle service contract; service plan or vsc is often referred to as an extended warranty but it is not a warranty. A service plan or VSC does however provide coverage for repairs, parts and labor, payments, towing and travel benefits for your vehicle. A vsc or service plan is a contract between you and a provider or administrator that states what is a covered repair and what is not. A vsc or service plan is not an insurance policy but a contract to specify what is covered and not covered.

Warranty Definitions are explained in this site under Magnuson-Moss. Please use the search bar of this site for the magnusson moss pages.
